McBains was appointed on the first phase by a syndication of banks, led by Eurobank Ergasias S.A., to provide project monitoring consultancy services for the luxury, mixed use development on the seafront in Ayia Napa, Cyprus.

The scheme, by M.M. Makronisos Marina Ltd, is centred around a new marina, offering world-class yachting facilities, alongside luxurious residences, a range of retail and leisure facilities and an event centre.

The marina will be able to accommodate around 600 yachts via both wet and dry storage, together with high-level, professional marine services and a government office for immigration and customs. Super yachts, up to 80 metres in length, will be able to use the wet slips, whilst the dry stack can be used by boats up to 10 metres in length.

Two iconic, twisting towers, rising to over 100 metres, will house 190 residences, ranging from one-bedroom to four-bedroom apartments and penthouses. Private amenities decks at both towers will give residents access to a host of facilities, including swimming pools, cabanas, outdoor bars, landscaped gardens, children’s play area, childcare facilities, fitness facilities and a 400m2 spa.

Twenty-nine detached villas, each with its own private infinity-edged swimming pool, will also be built as part of the scheme. The villas will command the best positions, with a collection being constructed on their own private beach, another group on a peninsula overlooking the marina and a third cluster on a man-made island in the centre of the marina.
