George is a key member of McBains Cooper Hellas, having joined when the Athens office first opened to lead the firm’s expansion and integration within the Greek, Eastern European and North African regions.
Tasked with overseeing the day-to-day operations of McBains Cooper Hellas, George also takes overall responsibility for the commercial and business development aspects of the business and is a member of its management board.
Having steered one of Greece’s first PPP projects to financial close during the country’s severe financial crisis, George has a detailed knowledge of the country’s needs and how the local market and economy operates, which is underpinned by his strong working relationships with key local stakeholders.
George has experience of working with government, public bodies and multilateral organisations as well as banks, lenders, developers and end users, and has developed an in-depth understanding of the demands and constraints of the Greek market.
Specialising in project monitoring and due diligence consultancy services, George is responsible for the overall quality of service. His key duties and responsibilities typically include feasibility studies, preparation of project execution plans, project monitoring and project coordination, and implementation of advanced audits and assessments.
